Intro | About Wills | Getting Help | Bequest Options | Life Will | Will Checklist | Power of Attorney | Callistemon League
The purpose of this section is to help you understand why you need to have a Will and how you can help people with multiple sclerosis by including MS Australia as a beneficiary of your estate.
If you are married, your spouse and children’s financial future will be a priority in your Will. The same applies if you live with a partner or by yourself; there are significant and loved people who share your life. When you marry, or re-marry, a new Will is required because the Law considers any existing Will as ‘invalid’.
You will still need a Will even if your only source of income is a pension. We all need a Will, regardless of whether we think of ourselves as being wealthy or poor. Remember that your home may be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars or you might have long forgotten bank accounts.

More than half of all Australians are estimated to not have a valid Will. If death occurs, the Supreme Court can determine what happens to your personal assets according to legislation. A valid Will is the only way to ensure the people you care for and love receive benefit from your Estate.
The information provided here will help you in reflecting on what to do with your assets and how to leave a bequest to help people living with multiple sclerosis.
After you have completed the formalities to include MS Australia as a beneficiary in your Will, please let us know. You need only tell us as much information as you wish and have the satisfaction of knowing you are helping us to help people living with the effects of MS.
The knowledge of your bequest gives MS Australia greater confidence knowing the necessary financial resources will be available to assist people living with MS in the future. And MS Australia would much prefer to thank you in person, rather than the Executor of your Estate.
Perhaps you might like to visit an MS Australia office. You will be able to discover our various client service programs and current research projects and how your bequest will benefit people living with the effects of multiple sclerosis.
The invitation is for those who have nominated MS Australia as a beneficiary or for those who may be considering doing so.
